Safety

The injected drug does not implement itself into the cell genome, but exists alongside as an episome, separate form the genome. This mechanism indicates the safety of using plasmid DNA. Usage of GFA-RNAst has been proven to not cause mutations or elicit other negative effects on the genome.

GFA testing is performed in flat-bottomed 96-well plates with Nb-2 cells. The cells were grown in RPMI-1640 medium with 10% fetal bovine serum and 10% horse serum, as well as 60–100 μM 2-mercaptoethanol. The GFA activity is performed in the medium without fetal bovine serum or horse serum.
